Michael Paige

D/S Michael Paige began playing drums in middle school in 1980. He played his way through High School and briefly played in a Drum and Bugle Corps before joining the Air Force in 1988. After experimenting with many different styles of drumming, Michael discovered Pipe Band in 1996.

He has spent 9 of his 11 years in pipe bands as D/S in Grade 4 and Grade 5 bands in the SUSPBA, with 15 first place wins, 6 seconds, 4 thirds, and only 3 non-placements at Stone Mountain Highland Games. His drum corps have taken 14 Top Drum Corps titles.

As a soloist, Mike was Grade 4 SUSPBA Champion Supreme in 1997, Grade 3 SUSPBA Champion Supreme in 1998, and tied for Grade 2 SUSPBA Champion Supreme in 1999. He won Grade 1 SUSPBA Champion Supreme in 2001 and 2003, and then moved to the Open/Professional ranks in 2003. He has since won 4 "Drummer of the Day" awards and 1 Gold Medal at Stone Mountain Highland Games.

His other activities include serving as the SUSPBA Vice-President, 1998-2001, and he has been a member of the SUSPBA Music Advisory Board since 2005.
