Though the Celts didn't invent distilling, they did invent whisky.  Known as aqua vitae, or the water of life, whisky distilling has grown from its early days, in the murky history of the early iron age, to the pinnacle of the distiller's art. What other distilled drink is so lovingly crafted, aged, and enjoyed?  The Great Southern Whisky and Spirits Expo is a chance for connoisseurs to enjoy their passions, and for novices to experience, maybe for the first time, the wonderful world of whisky.  From the classic Scottish Single Malt, to the bold flavors of Irish Whiskey and even to new distilleries in Wales or Brittany, there is a wonderful, adventure waiting for those who take the journey.

The Great Southern Whisky and Spirits Expo will host sampling of the best distilled spirits from around the Celtic World and the Old South. Single Malt Whisky and blended whisky from Scotland, Ireland, the USA, France and more; Irish Whiskeys, Kentucky Bourbons, Cognacs and other fine dark distilled spirits will fill booths after booth in the Tasting pavilion! Taste, Learn and have one of the happiest days possible!!

Each booth will be manned by knowledgeable experts including master distillers/blenders, distillery owners and specialists. Education is key at the Expo which premiers as the first grand tasting event in the American South/Southwest and is sister to the world famous Whiskies of the World Expo held annually in San Francisco.

Don't miss this exciting event which proudly becomes part of the Celtic Nations Heritage Festival this year and opens its door on the second day of the Festival, October 14th, 2006 from 1- 6 pm.
